A little about us


History

Olga B. Vasquez-Silva is a behavioral therapist and consultant. Mrs. Silva received her bachelors degree in Psychology and a minor in Biology from the University of Incarnate Word. Mrs. Silva has a Master's Degree in Special Education from the University of Texas in San Antonio. She has a graduate certificate in behavior analysis, from the University of North Texas. Mrs. Silva is currently mentoring for her certification as a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) with Jennifer Ganz, PhD, BCBA from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Mrs. Silva was nominated in November 2007, as a Board Director for Brighton: The Center for Inclusive Communities. Mrs. Silva is one of two Handwriting Without Tears Level 1 Certified writing specialist in the San Antonio area.  

She also has several years experience working with children with autism in the Mexico, Laredo and San Antonio area. She worked closely with TXCART (Texas Center for Autism Research and Treatment) as an ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) tester for the studies. She has established reliability in module one. Mrs. Silva's immediate educational plans are to pursue a doctoral degree in Clinical Pyschology.

CONSULTANTS

Jennifer B. Ganz, PhD, BCBA

 

Dr. Ganz is an Associate Professor of Special Education at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She received her doctorate at the University of Kansas, with a concentration in autism spectrum disorders and behavioral disorders and is a Borad Certified Behavior Analyst. Ganz has been working in education and special education for 12 years as a general and special education teacher and an educational consultant and continues to consult and present in Texas to schools and parents on topics relating to autism spectrum disorders and behavior difficulties. She has also been a speaker at regional, national, and international conferences on topics including interventions for behavior and autism spectrum disorders, including strategies to address social and communication skills. Ganz has received several small grants to fund research projects involving students with autism spectrum disorders and mental retardation, and a personnel preparation project for professionals working with children with disabilities. In addition, Dr. Ganz has authored or co-authored 18 articles, three books, and several chapters.
