One For Autism, Inc. was established to serve children, youth and adults of all levels of functioning while providing a comprehensive individualized program, aimed at enhancing language and communication, social, play, academic, and independent living skills
Established in 1997, the program is collaborative effort with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA, BCBA-D), a Board Certified Associate Behavior Analyst (BCABA), certified teachers, behavioral therapists, a Board Certified Music Therapist, Recreational Therapist, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Pathologists.
One for Autism provides private 1:1 ABA therapy, day programming (The Academy), and after school programs; and has been approved by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) as a nonpublic day school with which eligible school districts can contract for special education services. It also serves as a practicum site to many local universities including the University of the Incarnate Word, the University of Texas at San Antonio, St. Mary’s University, Our Lady of the Lake University, and Texas A&M International University.
Our two locations offer a variety of programs to clients of all ages and work closely with local autism community service providers.
As with any behavioral treatment program, the child’s ultimate success is highly dependent on the commitment of the child’s entire family to adhere to the treatment plan and perhaps undergo considerable changes in lifestyle. Parents must be prepared to invest significant portions of time practicing skills with the child and or collecting data. Data collection alone can span several weeks before and after the implementation of treatment.
Behavioral consultation fees are billed on an hourly basis. Parents are additionally responsible for incidental costs, including but not limited to consultant travel or materials necessary to implement treatment.
Behavioral consultation services provide a lifeline to families seeking advice and support in navigating the everyday challenges of raising a child with special needs. The use of positive, proactive methods at the home and in the community greatly increase a family’s ability to understand, manage, and reduce the problem behaviors and life skill deficits of a child with special needs.
